The Fortress Family of wireless security products consisting of three
key components deliver high-speed, low
latency packet processing, and are ideal for Virtual
Private Networks, Voice Over IP and Videoconferencing Over IP, where
security and privacy are a requirement.
- Wireless
Security Gateways, full feature security appliances
that scale for various network implementations (Models AF2100
& AF7500)
- AF
Secure Client, a software client module designed to
deliver security for bar scanners, handhelds, laptops and
integrated wireless devices, across popular operating
systems
- AF
Access Control Server (ACS), a server application
designed to manage the infrastructure and policies for
authentication and access control
Enterprise-Class Security - by
implementing the type of strength only afforded by a Layer 2
encryption, Fortress eliminates exposure to analytical hacks and
minimizes the impact of denial of service attacks
Flexible Ease-of-Use - critical
security operations, device and client-based authentication, and
client registration, are seamlessly integrated into the network
infrastructure in a few hours or even minutes. AirFortress'
scalable design ensures painless expansion of your wireless
network
Manageable - consistent and
centralized security; all components of the AirFortress solution
can be easily managed through a simple Web-based interface
Complete - network protocol agnostic
(IP, IPX, etc.) - supports new and existing devices including
Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, CE and legacy DOS clients - works with
any 802 radio standard (802.11a,b,g)
AF2100
AirFortress Security Gateways provide the essential
trusted relationship between wireless devices, users
and the secure network infrastructure. The efficient,
cost effective protection for the privacy and
integrity of your corporate applications and network
resources is now a simple plug-and-play option.
The AirFortress Model AF2100's small, sleek, yet
versatile design makes this solution perfect for
deployment at the edge of any network. Its durable,
fan-less design made this product the choice for the
U.S. Army's Combat Service Support Automated
Information System Interface (CAISI) project. Even if
your requirements are less demanding, your network
deserves the same level of robust security. The AF2100
can reliably provide secure service for several
802.11b access points simultaneously.
The highly integrated and modular design of Fortress'
design enables flexibility and scalability. All
critical security operations—encryption,
authentication, data integrity checking, key exchange,
and data compression—are optimized to minimize
hands-on management.
Installation is as easy as:
- Loading the Secure Client on the laptop, PDA, or
other mobile device
- Unplugging the unsecured AP from the network and
installing the AF2100
- Select security options from the Web-driven
configuration menu
- Turn on the device and go

AF Secure Clients
The AirFortress Secure client is the only wireless
security solution to cover such a broad range of both
current and legacy devices. While other vendors may
claim to support DOS clients, only Fortress provides the
same level of security, encryption and integrity across
all operating environments. This ensures that common
attacks such as MAC spoofing and Replay schemes are no
longer effective means for intruding on client to
network communications.
The AirFortress Secure Client is a software client
requires less than 100Kb of overhead and a bare minimum
of processing power. Once installed, the client is
"administration free" with a simple interface
for viewing utilities, statistics, and logs. Since the
client foundation is uniform for all OS platforms,
administration for all devices and users is identical.
Additionally, an Access ID is enabled on the Windows
Secure Client to support secure peer-to-peer mobile
computing in ad-hoc wireless LANs.
