It must be designed within the framework of voice, video and data communications models and their resulting physical and logical network classes.   In addition to its critical role, cable infrastructure is expensive and permanent relative to other components of the technology environment. It is therefore crucial that indoor cable plant  and outdoor cable plant design and implementation meet all current needs, be sufficiently flexible to accommodate foreseen and unforeseen future capacity requirements and be able to survive physical catastrophes causing damage or failures.  Structured cabling/wiring systems are critical to a successful telecommunications strategies and TEC can provide the experienced, certified resources to deliver a wiring management solution that meet your needs today and stand the test of time.
   
Telecom Engineering employs over 110 professionals, including a field installation and maintenance force of over 80 Technicians.  TEC personnel are BICSI certified cabling specialists.  Our management team includes 15 full-time Engineering Supervisors, possessing an average industry experience level of more than 20 years, providing the Company with an Engineer to Technician ratio that far exceeds that of any competitor.    TEC offers “cradle to grave” services for all aspects of a structured cabling project with all work executed by TEC personnel from the planning and design stages all the way through final integration and test phases.  Even manual and Technician labor required for any assigned project is executed by Telecom Engineering personnel and equipment, not subcontractors.  This holistic approach to wiring and cabling projects provides the client with a single source supplier, knowledgeable and responsible for all aspects of the project assuring the utmost in quality control.

Telecom Engineering Consultants, Inc. (TEC) utilizes the vast expertise of its team to fulfill all of the above considerations when providing cable infrastructure design, specification and implementation services for both inside and outside plant projects.  Close coordination among client liaisons and technology staff, architects, construction managers and cable systems suppliers is required in order to successfully install cable systems.
 

 

Incorporating applications and systems requirements information gathered during a Needs Assessment process, TEC defines a cable plant architecture encompassing detailed standards for hardware and wiring to complement voice, video and data architectures, as well as emerging support requirements for digital security systems. To ensure performance and reliability, a uniform cabling plan is selected. Testing, patching, demarc facilities and high capacity runs in strategic physical locations are identified. TEC evaluates the needs of the customer and matches those needs to industry leading structured cabling system providers, such as Panduit, AMP Netconnect, Ortronics, Siemon, Hubbell and Sumitomo(Blown Fiber requirements).  TEC is a certified design and installation specialist for all of these industry leading structured cable distribution and management systems. 

Once the design and technology selection phases are completed, TEC provides cable management services including the following tasks:

  • Developing communications drawings detailing assigned cable numbers 

  • Coordination with architect and/or client to determine the correct number and placement of all drops and outlets 

  • Developing patching schedules for station-to-LAN connectivity 

  • Developing station and riser cable termination schedules 

  • Reviewing implementation of established cable infrastructure 

  • Design Implementation scheduling with cable resources and construction manager/client interface 

  • Reviewing product submittals 

  • Cable plant installation, integration and testing 

  • Developing punch list 

  • Coordinating and managing all requests for additional work 

  • Complete and deliver final cable plant documentation 

  • Participation in cutovers
